The wonderful West Lake, located in central Hangzhou (Zhejiang district,) is a famous fresh water lake in China.

The name “West Lake” (Xi Hu) is used by a large number of lakes in China. However, the lake in Hangzhou is regarded by many people as the most famous of them all, and the terms “West Lake” and “Xi Hu” generally refers to this lake.

Traditionally, there are the ten best-known scenic spots on West Lake, known as the “Ten Scenes of West Lake”. This spots include the Winery Yard and Lotus Pool, the Leifeng Pagoda in Evening Glow, the Three Pools Mirroring the Moon, Orioles Singing in the Willows and six more to enjoy.

Other attractions are ancient tombs, temples, tea farms and springs. It is possibleto make beautiful trips on the lake with boats and rowing boats.
